This judge gave the world a lesson. A 15‑year‑old boy was caught stealing bread and cheese. When the judge asked why, the boy explained that his mother was sick, they had no money, and he was hungry. This decision of judge rule contains discrimination. For example, a child who steals a notebook is considered guilty, while food theft is treated differently—even though both are important. In the area of food sales, a seller is unfairly criminalized, whereas selling notebooks is not viewed the same way. Selling food should be regarded with the same fairness as selling other goods. Why is a seller’s labor selectively judged as wrong? This violates the principle of equality. Picking out certain sellers to blame is not a solution; another approach is needed. Is selling food itself a crime?
