Chatgpt AI as an assistant to Licensed MDs in diagnosis, treatment multiple choices lists

Title: The Role of Artificial Robotics and AI in Advancing Medical Diagnosis and Treatment

Introduction:
AI (Artificial Intelligence) have become increasingly popular tools in the medical field due to their ability to collect, organize, and analyze patient data, as well as provide diagnosis and treatment options.

Organizing Patient Data:
One of the primary benefits of using AI in medicine is its ability to collect and organize patient data. AI can take into account a patient's specific symptoms and medical history and provide a list of possible diagnoses or medication options for consideration by the medical doctor. Multiple-choice recommendation lists can significantly reduce the time required for diagnosis and treatment and enable more efficient and accurate patient care.

Analysis of Historical Patient Data:
By analyzing historical patient data, AI can provide licensed Medical Doctors with more detailed information about a patient's medical history, including potential risk factors or problems that may have been overlooked during previous examinations. This enables MDs to make more comprehensive treatment decisions and avoid missing even the smallest detail.

Providing Diagnosis and Treatment Options:
AI can also remind MDs to review and order certain tests based on the presented examination results to make them more reliable, depending on the urgency, outpatient, inpatient, or monitorized patient, or other related features.
AI technology is an important tool for efficient and accurate disease management, medical diagnosis, and treatment processes in the medical field.

AI has been used in medical imaging for years, where it can detect abnormalities in radiological images, improve image quality, and reduce the amount of radiation used in medical imaging techniques, among many other benefits. AI can provide diagnosis and treatment options based on anatomical body region or physiological algorithm, allowing medical doctors to select the most suitable option for their patients' condition.

Using AI as an Assistant:
It is important to use AI as a robotic assistant rather than replacing licensed MDs with AI. While AI can provide valuable information and recommendations, the final decision should always be made by the MD based on their education, knowledge, and medical experience. AI technology should be used as a tool to enhance the decision-making abilities of licensed MDs.
When used effectively, AI technology can speed up the decision-making process and enable medical doctors to make more informed decisions.

AI EXAMPLE list:
Below is an example case of how an AI system might list potential systems based on a patient's reported symptoms:

Example Patient's symptoms: Frequent headaches, nausea, and sensitivity to light

AI-generated list of potential human body systems:

Neurology - Medication-overuse headache
Gastroenterology - Intestinal issues, such as nausea
Cardiology - Chest pain or discomfort can sometimes be a symptom of heart issues
Respiratory System/Lungs - Respiratory issues can sometimes be a cause of headaches or other symptoms, especially if the patient also reports difficulty breathing or coughing
Eye - Sensitivity to light can sometimes be caused by eye issues
Endocrinology/Electrolytes - Hormonal imbalances can sometimes cause headaches and other symptoms
Infectious disease - Certain infections, such as meningitis, can cause headaches and nausea
Oncology - Some types of cancer can cause headaches and other symptoms
Musculoskeletal system - Certain musculoskeletal system  autoimmune diseases can cause headaches and other symptoms
Skin - Certain skin conditions can cause headaches and other symptoms

The Licensed MD, Physician, GP can review the list and select/click the appropriate system(s) for further investigation and diagnosis based on the patient's medical history, physical examination, and any additional information that may be necessary.
In this example, the AI system was able to provide the MD with a helpful starting point for their diagnosis, but the final 100 % decision and treatment plan were made by the MD based on his/her Faculty of Medicine degree/education, further experience, judgement.

EXAMPLE 2

Patient Complaint: Stomach Pain

AI Generated List of Possible Systems:

Gastrointestinal System
Urinary System
Reproductive System
Musculoskeletal System
Endocrine System
Cardiovascular System
Respiratory System
Nervous System
Immune System
Integumentary System

While AI can assist in providing a list of potential diagnoses based on inputted symptoms or data, it cannot replace the diagnostic judgment of a Licensed MD.
An MD can review the list and select the appropriate body system(s) for further investigation and diagnosis based on the patient's medical history, physical examination, and any additional information that may be necessary.

The interactions between a licensed MD and an AI like ChatGPT is as a form of Continuing Education for MDs. This is similar to the way MDs currently use online Continuing Medical Education systems to earn certificates and CME credits. It's important that any AI used in this context be held to the same standards of accuracy as other Continuing Education resources.

A licensed MD inputting specific qualitative and quantitative patient data to narrow, ie, dosing search from their  computer chatgpt terminal is a Continuing Medical Education activity. This could be done with a prompt, such as "ChatGPT, please provide Continuing Education information for the following patient case."

As of 2023, neither Chatgpt nor any other AIs are recognized as official Medical Continuous Education (CME) sites and do not offer any CME activities to DOs, MDs, or specialists. It is known that AIs generally perform better than average DOs, MDs, and specialists on medical exams like USMLE. However, a new AI called Chatgpt, including its free Android phone version, consistently scores 100 out of 100 on Continuing Medical Education site Exams like Medscape.

It is highly likely that once an individual has successfully completed the necessary traditional MD degree exams and a few years of training to be Licensed MD, they will not be required to present further exam results. Instead, they could provide a billing statement that includes the use of AI-based technology to access an up-to-date and comprehensive medical database.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, the use of AI in medicine revolutionizes the field by providing more efficient and accurate patient care. Both paid services and free AI options, such as ChatGPT, are available to licensed MDs in Turkey and around the world.
