Chard plant meal

Chard Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 large bunch of fresh chard
  • Garlic, sliced
  • Onion
  • Salt

Method

Rinse out the chard leaves thoroughly.
Boil the leaves in salty water for 10 minutes.
Take out boiled Chard from water,
Drain Chard,
Add sliced onions, slices of garlic and the crushed red pepper if wanted.
Saute cook in microwave oven till it is very dry, but not burned.
Eat warm with warm tea or with any other warm drink.

Instead of pastry, I eat Chard (spinach, green beans, aubergine ) at my 5 o'clock tea times.
Chard can be replaced with Spinach.
Chard is very healthy, and has very low calorie as any plant does.

This recipe is from the district I was born. But, they use oil, whereas I do not use any oil/fat when I cook/eat vegetables.
When cooked 1 kg chard becomes so small, so buy large amounts of Chard.
Buy a large size refrigerator to keep vegetables.
