Between many measurements, the Surface Temperature measurements gives valuable information in very cheap cost.
On its own, Temperature Changes of Earth Surface( sea or atmosphere) will lead to valuable predictions about natural events such as Earthquakes, Tsunamis, or Tornados.
When the Surface Temperatures of Earth with some other data evaluated together, it can be predicted that so so places are likely not to have some events such as Earthquake.
It is important that the surface or sea temperature values are above the average values for any country for a specific season. Many earthquakes can happen in the winter, for example Alaska is very cold, there have been very, very big earthquakes there. However, the difference from the average for that month or week, that place and that season is meaningful.
I looked at Surface Temperature of my city on Earth Temperature Map, as of 25 November 2022, i am luckily not expecting any Earthquake, Tsunami, Flood or Tornado in my city. I rather predict that a disaster is unlikely, rather than saying there will be something undesirable.

Surface-temperatures is only one of the many parameters in prediction for abnormality.
