Building Engineering in Fort Myers is not that bad against level 4 Hurricane

In Fort Myers Beach, Florida, a week after Ian Hurricane, there are still some standing concrete buildings. Meaning that strong engineering of buildings would protect against hurricane level 4.

figure 1.
In above youtube video screenshot, yellow and green houses second and third floors are still standing after ian hurricane. At a vicinity street, all buildings were levelled to sand, at least twenty houses altogether swept away aside as debris by hurricane.
How safe stayed upper floors inside of these buildings would be informative about century engineering success against wind power. It seems the hurricane flood killed anyone in first floors of houses, but the water mostly could not reach to second floors. The hurricane high air speed probably damaged, broke all glass windows, swept away inside of buildings at any second or upper floors. Were the corridors, doors of third upper floor rooms in above building(Hotel) undamaged i wonder. I know it is not safe to enter into such weaked damaged buildings.
Above screens are from youtube users, house inside videos are not available yet.

figure 2. Above building in the image is from Fort Myers Beach, FL, and is most likely a large hotel still standing ten days after ian  hurricane.
I wonder if anyone survived in this building from the upper levels and was rescued by helicopters.
Despite the fact that the first floor of the large concrete building above has been partly swept away by flood, and despite the fact that this building is almost on the sandy shore, this building survived  against ian hurricane without electricity, fire problems, and so on. Not bad.
In fort myers beach, in some youtube videos, electricity problems occurred after hurricane ripped houses, street lamps aside.
Maybe flood problem prevented other problem, fires problem from electricity. Some houses, and street lamps were on fire because of electricity lines touched each other by hurricane.
When hurricanes occur without a flood in general as in inlands, hurricane fires are also problems, though hurricane fires are not the reason to kill people.
That common black debris of houses are not that much in Fort Myers Beach, because flood stopped fires.
Life is hard, disasters are too many kind.
Humanity, human brain will go on to fight against disasters.
Forth Meyers Beach Hurricane Ian videos, from security cameras, from victim phones may not have been very helpful in saving many people's lives this time. However, it was useful to understand how, when, and to what extent Hurricanes can threaten human life. What could be done.
Which is better, Earthquakes, Tsunamies, mud flashes, volcanos, hot temperatures, cold winters, land slides?
I believe the future of technology will choose the worst and preferable disaster.
Air technology is a good escape from disasters except tornado, hurricane disasters. But storms as ian hurricane are slow coming, earthquakes, flashes are sudden. Another parameter is the area damaged by disaster and the frequency of any disaster.
Ian Hurricane is 30 years after Andrew Hurricane, not too bad, a baby would born and move another place in 32 years.
Wars between countries, between people is also big danger to cut capitals from being spend on engineering, medical discoveries.
United States of America is a country of 50 states, ian hurricane damage is not even 3 % of whole country as of 2022.
If it would have damaged more than 50 % states, then would be serious.
USA population is over 330 million, Florida has 22 million people. Florida has at least 100 cities, a big city average population is at least 50 thousands people.
Fort Meyers Beach population was not above 10 thousands when ian hurricane happened.
I believe ian hurricane caused at least many thousands of deaths. Saddening. But comparing 330 million population, (including all other state's ian hurricane deaths), the hurricane death number will not change usa human population power work even by 5 %.
USA is a big country to dig any disaster in detail, know it in detail, that also makes people imagining any hurricane in usa too destroying.
As of 10 October 2022, I watched a hurricane youtube video from Hickory Blv, FL  here at URL:
https://youtu.be/lRoe107PbsQ
On above after ian hurricane video, 11 days or so after Hurricane, street is full of not water but sand from ocean probably carried by ian hurricane. I believe that above video is indeed from hickory blv.
The below image is old days of the same Blv. Flood was not that much problem in this city. Palm trees are in a better condition. Hurricane ian was later and worse in Fort Myers Beach.
figure 3. Before Ian Hurricane
An old picture from Hickory Blv, Bonita Springs, FL, prior to ian hurricane.

Sanibel Island, Fort Meyers Beach, FL, had the worst flood damage from ian hurricane. A video taken 10 days after ian hurricane showed no signs of life in sanibel island. Even no birds were found on island.

figure 4. Sanibel Island Residents Life.

I wondered if there were many babies, newborns on island, the 2021 census results showed that, Sanibel Island Residents who lost their lifes (RIP) were mostly white race, were highly educated  Americans, their language was USA English, they were mostly female retired old people above 65, there were not babies or children on island, ratio of children even was less than 1 %.  They were educated and richer over median income. They were all computer users.
Figure 4 is a screenshot showing population and demographic data on the population loss from Sanibel Island.
Future settlement plans probably will be similar regarding the old age of island residents.
Since flood took away people from their houses, swept away houses, definite identification of lost people to declare officially dead is not possible. That is why death toll is declared as below a thousand as of 10 October 2022.
On the other hand, ian hurricane damaged cars are above 350 thousand, human beings are not durable to hurricanes better than cars, the owners of damaged cars probably badly harmed by ian hurricane or sadly lost their lifes. (That flood damaged cars will be on roads is not the concern of this blog, damaged car numbers are only to estimate Ian hurricane touched population).

figure 5.
Above image is from a youtube user video.
In the picture, FM beach, FL is seen, compared as bird viewing, by a drone.
There are at least 100 houses in the ringed area prior to the hurricane( Figure A) if counted roof by roof. Each house is large enough to accommodate at least for one or two people.
Unfortunately all 100 houses, or more, are leveled aside as a debris (figure B).
Such damage goes for miles and miles.

My thoughts, condolences are also for Cuba people who lost their lifes with ian hurricane.
